Beans
![]() |
Japanese "Azuki" red beans are very different than the beans that we are used to here in the states. First, they're a lot smaller. Second, they're eaten sweet and are often found in desserts! Countless numbers of sweet red bean confections are made in Asia. Azuki beans are frequently made into a dense paste which is then stuffed into a wide array of pastries. For example, Mochi is a sweet glutinous rice ball filled with bean paste and is a favorite with Asian food fans world wide. If you want to make your own mochi at home, take a look at our Mochi - Rice Cakes here. |
