Our Mooncakes are currently out of stock because the season has drawn to a close, and our manufacturers are taking a break. You can expect them to be back in stock at the beginning of next August, just in time to restock our shelves before the next Harvest Moon festival. And in case you’re not familiar with mooncakes, they are dense, moist cakes that are made of various ingredients and have a variety of styles and sizes. Overall the cakes are sweet, typically having a rich texture, and an inner filling that can range from mixed nuts, to lotus seed paste, to red bean paste, and more. The cakes are meant to be shared among friends and loved ones during the harvest moon festival, and are a culinary tradition in China and a few other surrounding countries. Mooncakes are a special pastry eaten during the merriment of the Lunar Festival. They are usually round like the moon and symbolize friendship, togetherness, fertility, and longevity. Mooncakes are filled with sweet filling, such as lotus seed paste, red bean, mixed nuts, black jujube paste, and the list goes on. Some Mooncakes even contain an egg yolk from a preserved salted duck egg, representing the full moon. Our Mooncakes are made by the Hong Kong’s Maxim’s Group. They’ve been churning out top quality products since 1956. These rich handheld cakes are just in time for the next Moon Festival. Grab them while supplies last!
