Glico Products
Glico is one of Japan’s largest food distributers, and is responsible for one of the country’s most widely recognized treats, Pocky. Although the company can also take credit for other things, such as Pretz, Collon, even health bars and baby formulas.
Glico has been around for a while, since about 1922. The first product it began selling was a caramel candy, fittingly called Glico. It did pretty well with this candy, as well as its other popular candy Pretz- and was slowly growing until they created Pocky in 1966. Then everything changed. The company skyrocketed after that, and by the mid 80’s Glico was in Europe and all over Asia, with widely recognized commercials.
