Kikkoman is a Japanese based company that produces seasonings, sauces, food, pharmaceuticals and restaurant management services, and has its reach in over 100 countries. It is most famous for its Soy Sauce, which is the most widely consumed soy sauce in Japan and the United States, however, it offers several other products that people rely upon every day.
The company officially began in 1917. It was formed when 8 families combined their resources to form Kikkoman, and while the company might seem pretty old, some of these families may have been making soy sauce as far back as 1603! Under their corporate logo, “Nothing but the best,” Kikkoman has pledged to bring great flavors to people by brewing their products naturally and safely, and avoiding any unnecessary chemicals. Through this natural production they have successfully created several unique, award winning products and have made soy sauce into something completely new. They now have Less Salt Soy Sauce for the healthy minded and Tempura Dipping Soy Sauce and Sashimi Soy Sauce. But they’ve expanded into other markets and flavors such as Teriyaki sauce and even offer Garlic Teriyaki and Pineapple Honey Teriyaki. They have organic soy milk for the lactose intolerant, or those who simply want to try something new in their coffee, and they offer other unique flavors such as Vanilla, Coffee, Green tea or Chocolate.
The seasoning flavors they offer, such as Chow Mein, stir fry, fried rice and Broccoli-Beef have helped solidify their presence in the taste enhancing world. These have only been accentuated by the soups they sell such as Miso and Wakame. So don’t think that these guys only sell soy sauce.
