Considered by many to be the ultimate in sharpening utensils, this double sided abrasive block is a Japanese Whetstone. One side is 1,000 grit, which is a medium-fine edge and the other side is 250 grit, which is much more coarse. This product should always be used while wet. Use the coarse side to shape the sharp edge of the blade, and the fine side to finish the edge and polish the blade.
