Brown rice differs from white rice as the outer hull of the grains are left intact. Brown rice has a sweeter and nuttier taste and retains more nutrients. It is a great healthy alternative to white rice.
Directions: Combine 1-1/2 cups Botan Calrose Brown Rice and 2 cups water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to low and simmer covered 20 minutes, or until liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat; let stand covered 10 minutes. Fluff with a fork and serve. Makes about 4 cups cooked rice or 6 (2/3 cup) servings.
NOTE: If using an electric rice cooker, combine 1-1/2 cups rice and 2 cups in electric rice cooker pot. Continue as directed by the rice cooker manufacturer.
