The “Monkey’s Pick” Loose Leaf Green Tea has an aromatic roasted flavor and a full-bodied smoky taste. Legend has it that monkeys were trained by monks from the Fujian province to pick the most perfect leaves from wild tea trees growing in the Wuyi mountainous region. In 1741, the monkey-picked tea leaves were presented as gifts to Emperor Qian and subsequently absolutely enjoyed by everyone in the Imperial Court. Today, the teas are handpicked by tea artisans in high elevations during Spring and Fall seasons. Each box contains a bag of “Monkey’s Pick” loose leaves. Simply pour tea into a tea strainer, steep for 1-2 minutes, and the tea can be served by itself without any additives. This also makes for a great gift for the holidays!
