Chili oil is made by infusing various types of vegetable oil with chilies or other hot spices. It originated from Asia, and was typical of Sichuan cuisine, but is now popular among many different cultures and continents, as its taste will fit well with so many different foods. It is recommended for marinades, for dipping sauces, or as a condiment.
