Java Brownie Sundae

Sweet, gooey brownies topped with creamy ice cream and homemade fudge sauce are a special treat. A touch of coffee flavor in both the brownies and the sauce give this delicious version a savory edge. Put all of the ingredients out and let your guests assemble their sundaes themselves!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Butter or Margarine (1 stick)
  • 2 tbsp Water
  • 2 tbsp Instant Coffee
  • 4 oz Semi - Sweet Chocolate Baking Bars
  • (broken into pieces)
  • 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 1/3 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 gal Vanilla Ice Cream
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 cup French Vanilla Liquid Coffee Creamer
  • 2 tbsp Instant Coffee
  • 1 cup Marshmallow Cream
  • 4 oz Semi - Sweet Chocolate Baking Bars
  • (broken into pieces)

Directions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 13 x 9 inch baking pan.
  • 2. Sugar, butter, water and coffee granules in large, microwave safe bowl on HIGH POWER for 3 to 4 minutes or until mixture bubbles.
  • 3. Add broken baking bar; stir until melted.
  • 4. Stir in vanilla extract.
  • 5. Add flour, baking soda and salt; stir well.
  • 6. Pour into prepared baking pan.
  • 7. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out slightly sticky.
  • 8. Cool in pan on wire rack for 1 to 2 hours. Cut into pieces
  • 9. Top the brownies with ice cream and fudge sauce.
  • 10. Garnish with whipped cream and chopped nuts, if desired.
  • 11. Heat instant coffee and coffee granules in medium sauce pan over low heat until coffee is dissolved.
  • 12. Stir in marshmallow cream and broken bars.
  • 13. Continue heating over lowest heat possible until mixture is smooth and chocolate is melted. Spoon over brownies and ice cream to serve.
