Sweet and Sour Pork

Craving something sweet and something sour? Try these crispy chunks of juicy pork at your next dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 Pork Chops (boneless)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 Tomato (wedged)
  • 1 Green Pepper (small, wedged)
  • 1/2 cup Pineapple Chunks
  • 1 tsp White Sesame Seeds
  • 3 cup Oil (deep frying)
  • 1/2 cup Sweet Rice Flour
  • 1/4 cup Potato Starch
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 3/4 cup Cold Water
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • 2 tbsp Potato Starch
  • 2 tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 3 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
  • 2/3 cup Sugar

Directions

  • 1. Mix ingredients for batter in separate bowl.
  • 2. Cut pork into 1/2 inch thick cubes; then rub salt into pieces.
  • 3. Heat oil in wok to 370 degrees F.
  • 4. Dip pork pieces into batter and deep gry in oil until golden brown (about 4 minutes).
  • 5. Mix ingredients for sweet and sour sauce in sauce pan, bring sauce to a full boil stirring constantly.
  • 6. Arrange tomato, pepper and pineapple on top of pork, pour sauce over and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
