Wasabi Mashed Potatoes

Turn your plain old mashed potatoes green with envy when you add a spicy dash of wasabi to every bite of this delicious dish. Serve it just as you would regular mashed potatoes, no need to skimp on the gravy.

  • 1. Place potatoes in large pot of cold salted water. Boil until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain, then return to pot; mash
  • 2. Combine 3/4 cup milk and 1 tbs of wasabi powder in small bowl. Stir with chopsticks or wisks to dissolve powder
  • 3. Add milk mixture and butter to poatoes. Using electric mixer, beat potatoes until fluffy and smooth
  • 4. Season potatoes to taste with togarashi red pepper. (To add more to taste)
  • 5. Can be prepared 2 hours ahead. Cover and keep at room tmperature. Rewarm mashed potatoes over low heat.
